having an oh-so-fabulous time relaxing. school has been out for awhile now..man, texas is hot. did i mention i'm going to ASIA?! as in, like, next week. have i started packing? no. noooo.
so much for a little break, huh? these photos were taken over a month ago but i remember it so well. i had hung around the office playing with flower arrangements all day. i got to play with a baby. then my boss and i had a dance party.
my mom found this little gem at a thrift store and brought it home the other day. neither of my sisters or I plan on getting married anytime soon, so it's stashed away in the guest closet. but we just had to try it on. here's lauren, my 14 year old model thin sister. shortly after putting this on, we pranced around humming to the tune of the wedding march.
2012 is almost over! what's crazy is this whirlwind of a year. I traveled (almost) all over the world over the course of a few months. there was thirteen planes, secret gardens of NY, trespassing on the canyons of Hawaii, running through Paris and London, and i learned how to go up escalators with 3 bags and luggage in each hand. it was exciting and exhausting. i really miss it. and i can't wait to do it again next year.
can't believe it's november and i'm still wearing shorts. let's see if i can make it to december with these suckers.
in other news, my internal clock is out of whack. i must have spent thirty minutes ranting to my mom about how the sun was starting to set at 4:00, my days are too short, blah blah..., and by the time i finished my spiel, it was already pitch black. of course.
my house is a wreck. we're currently going under some cabinetry painting, and the past few days have been rough. in my head, that is. paint fumes can do some serious damage on my thought process. earlier today at work, i totally had the worst conversation with someone. my words came out like, bippidy-boo-meh. i'm pretty sure i was trying to say "how may i help you?" those paint fumes, man.
Whenever my sister and I talk about pop culture, we have this thing where we rate them like "on a scale of Miley Cyrus to Ed Sheeran, how good of an artist is Ellie Goulding?" We think it's funny. Or at least I do. We also have various codewords that we use on a daily basis. oh, and we also have a strategy for whenever someone rings the doorbell and we're in our pa-jam-jams. It's very spy-like. There's lots of rolling on the floor involved.
Last week, my family put up the Christmas tree. On October 2nd. It's never too early in the Chu household. Never.
On another note, life has been good. I've been overwhelmed with tv shows filling up the DVR. (ARROW!) and I've been listening to this "feel good" song Vicious Love on repeat. It's one of those good days, ya know?
oh monday! I start a new job tomorrow, and boy, I'm anxious. so ready to get those first day jitters out..
I hope your weekend was great. Mine was spent at a family reunion. (so great to see them!) and I also learned chess (thanks to my patient sister) and learned to never get pepper in your eyes. because it hurts.
